Only on Fox News is 8.6% the same as 9% and higher than 8.9% and 8.8%.
Ugh.
Here’s the thing.
Since the first Presidential election I was old enough to vote in (1988, for Bush The Elder), I have always been very into the election process. I’ve always enjoyed watching each one unravel, or fray, in their own particular way. The process fascinates me, in part because I find it ridiculous that people as stupid as we are have the kind of power we have in this country. Oh, admit it. We’re morons. Moving on.
2012 may be the first Presidential contest I skip. I am horribly disappointed in Obama, and I wouldn’t show up to hear any of the Best Hopes of the GOP. Every single one of the assholes running for President this time around…including the one who already has the gig…has at least one deep flaw that makes my stomach turn.
The pathetic nature of the media coverage only amplifies it. Fox News, laughably guilty as they are, only deserve part of the blame. Every outlet has stepped up the manic pandering this time around, to the point that I really couldn’t care less anymore. And this is ME: the guy who LOVES this stuff. This includes Jon Stewart, and roughly 70% of the people I see on Facebook. Family included.
I’d say it’s time to shake the etch-a-sketch, but so many hands grabbed for it at once that it broke ages ago. All that silver sand leaked out, without forming anything we can identify. The “Occupy Movement” is a perfect example of that.
The future is far too important to trust to people who’s lives aren’t worth living if their iPhone is only 3G instead of 4G, and will pepper-spray their way to savings.
So, quit telling me Michelle Bachmann hates gays. I’m aware. Quit telling me Obama’s a shitty President. He had help. It took 24 years, but the process finally broke me. I officially don’t care anymore.
